| Sam arrived in Aust after finishing his American Championship easily. Before leaving the USA I showed him for the first time to his class in sweepstakes win at the OESCA National Show as well as making the first cut along with all the other wonderful specimens of the breed under world renowed judge Woody Nelson as the youngest OES entered in the Best of Breed Competition at the American National Specialty. We spent a couple of weeks together in Texas before he came to Australia and we developed a very strong bond which has continued 'downunder'. He easily obtained his Australian Championship having to beat his kennel mate Grand Ch Ottaba Ewecant Catchme (for the dog challenge )as well as our own Grand Ch Packardia Goes Ambelon (for breed). Along the way he has won numerous Best In Group awards and had many 'In Show' wins, including his class in show at the OES National in Perth. Sam has also been awarded Best of Breed at the Working Dog Club of Victoria. Under breed specialist Ian Smith (New Zealand) he was awarded Best Exhibit in Show at the Working Dog Club of Tasmania . Sam has also been an invitee to the Tasmanian Contest of Champions. His pedigree is a combination of the very best of the American To-Jo lines and the Canadian Raffles lines, many of whom are National Specialty winners in America. His suberb nature makes him a favourite with many. 'Sam' obtained his Australian Grand Championship by going Best in Group at the Kennel Club of Tas under Mrs M Martin (Vic) Stop press: 'Sam' is awarded Best Exhibit in Show at the OES National Specialty under breeder judge Nancy Shaffer Smith (USA) |
